| I noticed that angie said she didn't know if she could be bothered to see WDTW when it plays Sheffield. I wonder if she would be more enthusiastic about going to see it if the show was set in the north of England instead of America (as the wonderful film it is based on was)? Nothing wrong with setting shows in America but the film was so cool, why change it? Even though Jim is American, I believe he has said that the show should have been closer to the original film. Has anyone here not seen the original film? Alan Bates and the kids who find him in the barn are magnificent. Please try to see it if you have not seen it yet. Also, I have not seen both the Bill Kenwright production and the first West End production. If anyone has seen both, would they be so kind as to compare the two productions? Many thanks. And two questions for theatre experts like Ryan. Is WDTW the only ALW show not to play on Broadway? What were his reasons for not opening it there? | |
