* - Just because Meat said that Jim was going to have this surgery, doesn't mean it actually happened.
* - Many people don't wish their medical situation to be made public, perhaps because they feel it is private, or perhaps because they don't want people to worry about them.
It's completely up to Jim what he says and what he doesn't; it's not up to us to tell him his wrong or to try and force information out of him.
