| You know, a lot of people complain about how pathetic this site is run, how pathetic this board has become with all its ranting and hate. I keep my mouth shut about ALL of it because up until now, I didnt think it was that bad. It was a place to get up to date news on Jim and his projects. It was a place to meet people who share a unique interest in music. It was a place to get rare songs of someone I truly enjoy listening to and respect. Sure the fights came and went, but it was always something that you could ignore if you wanted to. And if you felt like reading it, it was usually good for a laugh. But now all that indifference ends, now it is time to say some things that may get me banned for life or suspended for a while. But I dont care, I need to say this because if I dont and something bad happens to Jim, Ill feel terrible for a long time. And here we go...: FUCK YOU JACQUELINE! Why the FUCK are you running this site if you cant even post that Jim was having open heart surgery?! God forbid his fans may want to wish him well, send a big "get well soon card", or keep him in their prayers. Sure you may respond with some lame ass excuse like "Jim told me he didnt want this information released to the public". Or "Jim didnt want to bother his fans with it". Well I know quite a few people (my father for one) who had open heart surgery. My father had a massive heart attack and double bypass surgery. He is a tough old guy who didnt want to bother people with his problems. GUESS WHAT? We ignored his stubborn ass and got him get well cards, visitied him regularly, and kept his god damn spirit up so that should something bad happen he would be in a positive frame of mind to take it on. What the hell is wrong with this site and YOU. No updates ever, the people who used to post consistently interesting and new things are banned (for what, starting a flame war?). Who cares?! It was at least SOMETHING NEW and even entertaining in some caes. Most of the parties were probably not all that serious anyway. Just passing the time on the web by arguing. When fight was about to break out you could easily spot it and ignore the thread if you wanted. And most of the fights happened because ONE guy decided to share some information with us about what he had heard was happening with the Bat out of Hell musical. The people who argued and insulted him did so because you refused to acknowledge any of his "facts" (except for a few rare times). At least he was sharing something with us. Frankly Im shocked that this morning I woke up and saw a video with Meat Loaf telling me Jim had open heart surgery almost two weeks ago and NOTHING was posted on this board about it. God dammit Im so angry right now, but more so I am hurt. Hurt that I invest time and energy in this website because of the respect and admiration I have for Jim Steinman. Because of how much of a positive influence he has had on my life. And the one place I trust to learn about him has betrayed me. IN CLOSING: Well Jim, now the cat is out of the bag, and whether you like it or not, you are in my thoughts. Get well soon! END RANT | |
