| I do agree with Meat that many of Jim's songs being about Sex, or at least there is a reference to it: Left in The Dark All Revved Up Paradise obviously Anything for Love Safe Sex Even Two out of Three in a way ("I want you... but I don't love you") His other songs (if not about love) are more generic about feelings I guess which can be applied in lots of situations. I find it interesting that Jim was heavily inspired by Bruce Springsteen and a lot of his early 1970s lyrics and took those teenage angst cliche ideas to the extremes and beyond, whereas Springsteen probably grew up more and has written more about politics and other subjects and pretty much has become more of a story teller rather than a fantasy lyricist. | |
