| I thought the live cd is pretty damn good actually, far far better than I was expecting. Meat's vocals sound better than what they did at the shows in my opinion, so I think they have cleaned things up considerably. I would be interested to know how this has been achieved. I grew tired of HCTB after 3-4 plays after huge initial interest, which is the first time this has happened for me in Meat album history since I've been a fan in 93. The excessive energy on the album is actually a problem for me. The climax is constantly reached, there is no road to it, which is wrong. Even the ballads (if you can call them that) are constantly turned up to eleven. Subtetly has gone out the window and instead we get a Metallica/Guns N Roses/The Darkness/Meat Loaf stew! Meat is probably not adapting well to his age I think. I honestly think he should do more cut down songs/albums where he does not have to compete singing with 2 billion guitars and Bat he will always be able to do but the new stuff live, I'm not so sure. I'll be interested to hear how it goes down in the US and preferably not listen to the fluffy duffy reviews but honest ones. > Having just listened to HCTB, I have to say I'm very > disappointed.
