It sounds incredibly harsh but I'm pretty sure that was only because of her age. She already represented Ireland back in 1993 so must be pushing 40 at least. I'm not saying that is old or makes her performance less good but I'm pretty sure most of the other contestants were in their early 20s.
At least that's what the UK got right. Shame THEY forgot about sending in a good song and we ended up with a Kylie/Jason Donavan 1989 B side. That doesn't sound good to me at all.
