I'd like to know the figure, too, and would love to know if Jim now wishes he'd taken it and made the record.

Meat's words have the ring of truth to them, IMO. No point in blogging to fan clubbers in between HCTB gigs about water three years under the bridge just to blow smoke, is there?

The bits about Des, Kovac and the label pretty much HAVE to be true, because that at least provides a realistic explanation for some of the horrible decisions made on Bat III. As for Jimmy's contract, well.... I believe Jim did say he was on board at some point, I absolutely believe that. Why else is Meat touring, saying he's making Bat III with Jim and playing Only When I Feel? Then Jim changed his mind. Fine, that's his prerogative, of course. Meat's account is plausible on that front; and we've all heard enough crap about Sonenberg over the years to believe he's shady on the level Meat describes. "Oh, the fax is broken!" Hah. Scan it, bitch!
