It's fine not to like it, but it certainly 'aint 'shitty'.
I love the song (especially the lyrics) and think the best version (so far) was done by Rob Evan & Mandy Gonzales, live @ Joe's Pub in January 2005 (feels like yesterday).
I'm not keen on any of the three studio demos (pop, dance & piano), that were put up briefly, nor the TDE live arrangement from 2006.
I think it only needs a minimalist arrangement like Heaven Can Wait, with a small string section, a much 'smoother' piano, and maybe Jim's 'telephone' vocal as an intro.
I don't think it is a single, but will make a great album track (for someone?!?).
