Yes, it was great to have (basically) the whole show because the whole show (including substantial dialogue) is on double CD. But, as is usual with non-produced Steinman stuff, there's no real or understanding of the true potential Steinman brings out in stuff he produces. It's sad. The cast album could have been as amazing as the Tanz one if only Webber had let Steinman co-produce. Look at the work they did on "Kiss" when they co-produced, it was MAGNIFICENT. No, the "Whistle" cast album was a let-down for me. If you want to hear the best songs in the closest to Steinman-form you'll get get the concept celebrity CD | |
