Apparently he was already conceiving his next film before he died with Steven Spielberg which eventually Spielberg ended up doing himself: AI.
I don't agree it's his weakest film. I can appreciate it's not everyone's cup of tea, but I think there is a lot of intriguing things going on in Eyes Wide Shut.
