Problem with Burton is that he creates all these surreal worlds and characters, but doesn't give the audience a real protagonist we can experience it all through. I don't think I need to go into how bad his two Batman films are, I haven't seen his Pee Wee film, but may well do if the opportunity arises. Someone who I don't think has been mentioned yet is Peter Jackson, he is truly awesome, cant think of a time I've been more immersed at the cinema since Lord of the rings, his remake with King Kong is okay but quite slow paced and the two leads in the film are just awful.
