That's what I love about this board. I > learn something new every day. > I think it's probably a good thing that you didn't know about it. A lot of the Rocky Horror fans these days have heard of the film and tracked it down, watched it and been disappointed. The problem is that it shouldn't be seen as a sequel. It's more of an equal. Don't go in expecting to see Tim Curry and Barry Bostwick and Susan Sarandon and Meat Loaf. They're not there. Jessica Harper and Cliff DeYoung play Brad and Janet (and Cliff also doubles as the villain, Farley Flavors). The only actors from the original film to return are Richard O'Brien (Riff-Raff), Patricia Quinn (Magenta), Little Nell (Columbia), Charles Gray (The Criminologist), and Jeremy Newson? (Ralf Hapshatt who is now divorced from Betty Munroe. She also appears in the film played by a different actress.) They all play different characters though some fans like to create little conspiracy theories suggesting that the new characters are the old characters in disguise. I like it. If you're curious, try listening to the soundtrack first, and then watch the film. Even as an equal, it is difficult to sit through and it takes a couple of goes. But if you really don't want the previous film to be spoiled, don't watch it. I actually quite like it though but it's taken me a while to get to that point. | |
