| When Scaramouche posted a link to the website of the chap who has just covered "Making Love", I read the following information on that webiste: "Steinman offered the song, along with "Total Eclipse of the Heart", to Meat Loaf for his Midnight at the Lost and Found album; however, Meat Loaf's record company refused to pay Steinman for the material so Meat Loaf ended up writing compositions for the album himself. Steinman's songs were then offered to Bonnie Tyler & Air Supply." Jim has now said that this information is completely false and that he never offered either "MLOONAA" or "TEOTH" to Meat Loaf. "MLOONAA" was written specifically for Air Supply and "TEOTH" was written specifically for Bonnie. I was surprised because Pedro Jose's website was quoting Wikipedia and the people at Wikipedia are famous for making sure that their information is correct. I think the time has come for Jim to write (or have ghost written) a book that can set the record straight on all sorts of things (like the false accusations that Kasim Sulton is responsible for Meat Loaf changing the original Steve Margoshes arrangements for his concerts - which Jim posted as "admin" to correct - please see link below). There is a posh coffee table book by George Perry about BOOH The Musical coming out (and there will obviously be a lot of biographical information about Jim in that) but there is room in the market for a really griity, in depth book by Jim which could be like Meat Loaf's "To Hell And Back". If Jim doesn't feel like writing it himself, he could easily find a ghost writer. "To Hell And Back" reads like it was written by a ghost writer but it was fun. I couldn't put it down until I had finsihed it and I have now read it several times. | |
