| An old blog from Jim. I really hope it becomes a reality. I especially want to see the motorcycle ballet. Stuart has nothing like that in his scripts. I prefer Jim's imagination. That's why Jim got together with Elva in the first place. She told him she wanted to do a motorcycle ballet and he had already been thinking the same thing. From Jim's blog: As for my stage show, Jim Steinman's BAT OUT OF HELL--the Epic Live On Stage: I am in NO WAY treating this like the shit pile DOTV was! I am approaching it like TANZ DER VAMPYR or THE DREAM ENGINE or NEVERLAND. Which means Im "agonizing" over every word, every inflection, every moment, every breath of each life! I am taking it FUCKING SERIOUSLY! It is almost an impossible task to begin with:Creating a powerful vision, not only filled with gasp-making spectacle but containing up to 15 songs, at least, from BAT1 and BAT2. Which is almost impossible by itself, but I intend to try, and if I fail to make the spectacle thrilling, the all LIVE songs overwhelming, AND, most important, the characters and story heart breaking and soul wrenching, as well as hilarious, then Ive failed. Period! Please dont over analyze my brief "selling description". The motorcycles WILL BE CHOREOGRAPHED and I feel really amazing! (Yes, its all live. For those who worried, you CAN have motorcycles shooting over your heads, up a curl, across space, all set to music & COMPLETELY hear anything else going on!) The Russian "wizards" are just aerialists whove gone further than anyone else has! And we will be casting globally! Not US or UK alone! BUT ultimately, its all about the words, sung & spoken, and the characters who are possessed by them. May God help me. If he hasnt already left the building. BTW, "We're Still The Children We Once Were" is in there too. I just wanted to communicate how intensely I care and how obsessive-maniacally I will work on this, with "painful" precision. | |
