I always thought the Bat 1 bat was a live bat but I guess it could be a statue. Maybe one day a Bat fan will request a statue like that instead of a normal tombstone.

I love the covers of both Bat 1 and Bat 2. To me they are both very Jim. I think that he came up with the concept for both and then an artist illustrated his ideas. I can't make up my mind which one I like the most. Possibly the Bat 2 cover is more relevant to Jim's "Neverland" story.
