I LOVE the first three films, the first one which is the darkest (I really like the way they show the city at night, part of the inspiration for Don Claude btw), the second one which is the coolest and the one where the doll itself looks the scariest, and the third, the funniest and, in my mind, the final chapter. I have never seen the other two films, "Bride of Chucky" and "Seed of Chucky", and I have never really wanted to, to be honest. They just feel like different beasts, not the same as the original trilogy which has been my favourite since I first started watching the films in '98. And yes, the Chucky films are meant to be scary and funny at the same time. But originally it was going to be a lot darker and the little boy Andy was going to be responsible for the crimes. I think if they had done that, we might have had another classic like "Psycho" and "The Exorcist". Ah well, it's still good as is though. | |
