Mayor McCheese was one of the charatcers who lived in McDonaldland (please see link at the bottom of the page). He was sadly dropped in the mid-1980's but did appear in a McDonald's cartoon about 15 years later. Even though he was the mayor, Ronald McDonald seemed to be the boss. Other characters included the purple Evil Grimace and the Hamburglar who stole hamburgers. Jim's favourite character might be Captain Crook, who was modelled on Hook from Peter Pan. He concentrated on stealing fillet-o-fish burgers. Gosh. I'm not sure what they were trying to teach kids in those days. McDonaldland was a bit like an acid trip. Sometimes they had hamburgers and fries growing out of the ground (not sure if I would want to eat them). I think that people had to be eihter very stoned or very young to get McDonaldland. Far more freaky than the Teletubies. I am adding a Mayor McCheese photo gallery for your enjoyment. Poor Mayor McCheese had a cheese burger for a head. Can you imagine waking up and your head is a giant cheeseburger? Fortunatley, he is gone but not forgotten. There is an internet campaign to bring him back. He would probably fit right in with the age of ecstacy. Click on the thumbs below to get a good look at the mayor plus your hero. Thanks for saying that I can share your giant Ronald McDonald costume. LOL. You are probably right that Mayor McCheese is too cheesy. Ha ha. He is also too beefy. | |
