Literally just finished listening to LITD on YouTube (My copy of Bad for good omits the closing monologue so the only way I can listen to it fully is on the web) and then I see this topic, coincidence, almost certainly.
For my money, the girl really does love him, perhaps the look in her eyes is that of guilt, guilt of hurting the one she loves, but on the other hand, it could be the guilt of letting things get that far without ending it her relationship with the character singing first (If that makes sense)
