| Schlip schlap avay As coincidence would have it I'll be passing through Seinäjoki in March but won't have time to get off the train. I'm staying slightly longer in Tampere which is only an hour away on the train so will keep my eyes peeled for more info. Perhaps the Finnish contingent on the board can keep us updated if they hear anything. Seinäjoki itself is rather an unusual place to hold the musical. That part of Finland is apparently more like Sweden and it's a fairly small city- probably the equivalent of it opening in Blackburn or Swindon (or Oberhausen) and aside from one weekend in July when Provinssirock is on there isn't much to do there unless modernist architecture floats your boat. If there were to be a Steintrip I think Tampere would be a better option for staying as there's more to see and do and it's more easily accessible. It's described as the "Manchester of Finland" which I presume means that people can be seen smacking up in the town centre, most shops will be shut, you'll leave with far fewer valuables than you arrived with, and whenever you hear a loud noise you hit the deck. > > What a coincidence! I wish I had never heard of Spamalot. ;-) | |
