I'm glad to hear people are planning to come! Seinäjoki itself is quite a small town, so as someone on the forum suggested, I'd recommend staying mainly in Tampere or Helsinki. There's no train/bus connection from Seinäjoki after the evening performances, except apparently a night train that leaves around 2 AM, so you'd either have to take that, go to a matinee or stay there overnight.
The Master's thesis about TdV was done in the University of Tampere, and the translator in question has also done the translation for the production. As for why the musical comes exactly to Seinäjoki... I don't think there's one big reason for it. The same production team (director, costume & set designers, conductor) did Rocky Horror Show there in 1995 and people still seem to talk about the production and the big hype around it, so TdV is a nice way to have a reunion, I think.
