The reasons why I dont think it works on Objects is that theres no real progression to the change of tone, it just sorta happens needlessly. in a song like for crying out loud it works as the more desparate sounding the character in the song is, the more intense the music gets. Such as when the song goes into the 2nd chorus and the music really picks up. There's a real progression to it. In objects theres no real (for lack of a more fitting term) urgency in the lyrics to the change of pace, where something like For crying out loud or Bat or Paradise there is. Think I may have waffled on and missed my point a little, but I hope what I'm getting at comes across.
