Yeah, the "Total Eclipse" crack shows a lack of imagination on the reviewer's part.

The legitimate criticism is tucked into these 2 lines:

"Tyler is swamped by an enormous arrangement that
sounds like every musician in the New York local took a
turn adding clutter to the mix. Steinman's arrangements
always squeeze too many instruments into too little space,
but here there's so much nonsense that there's no place
left to put the song."

That's a fair enough critisism, but frankly, the huge arrangements part of why I love Jim's music.

As I mentioned in another reply, they talk about how music is subjective. With movies, there's general agreement about what's the worst, but music, hell, these guys hate The Doors and are mystified at how they became so well regarded.

Hyperbole. Jim did an OK job, but I can see why he works with other singers. And "Left In The Dark" should've been left to Rory.

Ah, what the hell, I might as well come out and admit that I think Streisand's version is the best, and I usually can't stand Streisand.
