I was thinking a similar thing. There are numerous interviews where Jim talks about the country TOOTAB - sung by a lonely coyote howling in the desert amidst roadkill - before it was turned 'poppier' in the studio.

I should think Born to Run(75)would have been a massive catalyst; especially as both Max and Roy played on bat.
