Well, I say what you said about Meat Loaf. He always sounded like that, even on "The Dream Engine". "Smoke Song" could have been a demo for "Bad for Good", IMO.

Sometimes, yes. Sometimes, no. Everything on "Bat" is magnificent, and "Bat 2" also, but in my view Jim did a much better version of "Left in the dark" than Meat did. It was much more passionate. I thought the Meat Loaf version was...watered down? But I'm not saying Meat Loaf's version wasn't passionate, Jim's version was MORE passionate, again, IMO.

I disagree with that. I thought Bonnie did a terrific job on "Total eclipse of the heart" and "Faster than the speed of night", and the same with Holly and Fire Inc. on "Nowhere fast" and "Tonight is what it means to be young". All of the vocals on Pandora's Box are terrific and passionate and moving. I even like Celine's version of "It's all coming back to me now", much more than Meat Loaf's version TBH.
And Steve Barton's performance in "Tanz" is equal to Meat's performance on "Bat", and it's a pity he never recorded more Steinman material.

Same.

I like both their voices.
