Even if Jim hadn't been involved, they could have asked Todd Rundgren to produce, the original produce of "Bat out of Hell". That would have given it more continuity. To me, it was a no-brainer. Todd should have produced.
And if Todd produced, maybe he could have worked something out with Jim. Maybe a lot of these new songs would have been recorded because, after all, Jim thinks Todd is a genius. Just maybe...

And they didn't need any of the celebrity guest appearances. They were just trying to sell more albums. But they didn't need to do that. The fact that it was called "Bat out of Hell" was enough.
And they tried promoting one of their new artists by having her record one of the duets when she probably wasn't the right person to sing the song. They should have given it to Patti. And there were too many duets. There should have been two, at most.

And the way the songs ran together, it was all over the place for me. Bat and Bat 2 feel like a progression, an experience.
