Just out of curiosity, which version of "Gott" do you have? The one on the complete CD has a reprise with the vampires / chorus singing the refrain. I love that bit, it sends shivers right through me.

The problem with "Tanz" I always felt was the inability of those English lyrics to live up to the German. It just sounds so eloquent in that language, when you take it and put it into English you expect it to be that beautiful but it sounds clunky. I dunno. Although I think Steve's performance on the English "Gier" is more inspired than the German one, considering also he did that two months before he did. That adds an extra element of tragedy for me.
