| Didn't have a chance to comment on the demos at the time they were released a while a go. But better late than never. First of all, thanks for the person/people who was/were kind enough to share them with Jim's fans. It's been so quiet for many years so this was the biggest "event" for me since those Batman demos appeared... 'Making Love' with Jim and Rory...I love this version! Have always loved Rory's voice and one can definitely hear it's Jim hitting those keys. Really liked the piano solo part and Rory's impassioned vocals. Have been playing this song a lot. I wonder how many other demos they recorded. I think Jim and Rory make a great duo ('A Kiss Is A Terrible Thing To Waste' is in my top 5 Jim songs) and it's a shame they didn't make a proper record together. Since Jim was denied Meat Loaf and Steinman credit on 'Bat out of Hell' I think Jim & Rory, Steinman & Dodd would have made a great combination (Hall & Oates, Asford & Simpson etc.)Or they could have called themselves Fire Inc which is a cool name. Jim on piano and Rory on vocals...If only...I think it would have worked. 'Making Love' and 'Ttotal Eclipse' are such great songs that I think Jim & Rory duo would have had the same kind of success with them as Air Supply & Bonnie. That would have given them a great start as a duo and lots of Steinman classics were waiting around a corner... | |
