I remember knowing

Paradise
Total Eclipse
Hot summer night

but not knowing who had written them.
My dad introduced me to BOOH, he brought the LP home from work for me one day, saying 'You like that song?? Honey, the guy who wrote that song wrote this whole album. Have a listen and tell me what you think.'
He later told me he thought Paradise to be one of the 'weaker' songs on the album, but hadn't wanted to put me down... I ended up agreeing with him...

Later, for my birthday, my dad got me a copy of Bonnie Tyler's greatest hits. I then found out that my 3 fave songs (Holding out for a hero, Faster than the speed of night & total eclipse) were written by the same bloke... and I was hooked.

I also remember the first time I heard 'It's all coming back to me now'... (Celine's version, it would take years before I found PB, there wasn't much available where I grew up).
I was in a record store with a friend, heard the piano intro, turned to her and said 'Steinman wrote that!'
She told me that was BS, there was no way I could know that, but I stood firm, I was sure.
She looked it up in the booklet and found out I was right.
I couldn't afford the cd back then, but she was so impressed she nicked the booklet for me and gave it to me after we'd left the store...
