| I was thinking the other day about how many times I had actually heard a Steinman classic on the radio or in a movie before knowing he was the man who did them all. It's interesting to consider how many songs of his I liked without knowing he even did them. I got Bat out of Hell 2 in 1994 and 1 in the summer of 95 but I didnt grasp Steinman's imprtance until 98 or 99ish. Here is my list: 1) Holding out for a Hero in Short Circuit 2. I think this is my first Steinman exposure 2) Total Eclipse on the radio. Anytime this song came on the radio I would get so excited. I never owned my own copy of it until 2000ish 3) It's all coming back to me now, Celine Dion. I remember seeing the video and hearing the song and thinking how much it reminded me of Meat Loaf music. Thats the only music of his I heard without knowing what he was involved with. Once I got more on the net the Steinman hunt began and I started buying all things Steinman related, Whistle down the wind, Bad for Good, and Pandora's Box. | |
