Great question! I had always loved Bat 1 at the time of release, but at 13, didn't know the significance of the songwriter and likely never even noticed the "Songs by" part. It was in 1983 in college, that my RA got free passes to the premiere of "Streets of Fire." I liked the movie, but more importantly LOVED 2 songs on the soundtract (and only 2), so I bought the soundtrack, which is something I never do with movies. When looking at the liner notes that these two songs AND ONLY these two songs were written by Steinman, something clicked and I did some research. Eclipse was all over the airwaves. The first Steinthing I hunded down was Pandora's Box from the UK, and thus began my quest.
