"Dance Of The Vampires" was also a lot different than the original movie (I don't mean "The Fearless Vampire Killers", the first time it was ruined on American shores.) There were two things in one of Jim's blogs that surprised me. "Phenomenology Of Excess" also states Jim received legal letters from the Great Ormond Street Hospital who own/ed "Peter Pan". This must have been the main reason why it's never happened all these years. "Peter Pan" has never gone public domain. However, Jim says he and the Great Ormond Street are cooperating on "Bat Out Of Hell: The Musical", even raising money for a concert at the RAH. I wonder what changed their minds? Jim also says "Peter Pan" is public domain. As far as I know, that's incorrect. I thought the Hospital renewed their claim with that sequel from last year. I can't remember what it's called > > Something like that. There's no way Jim could keep true to > the original and for it to work successfully today, the > audience would be like WTF? > > WDTW the musical was similar in principal to the film, but > so different in so many ways. Some things need to change > for it to work. WDTW was originally set in England, then > its location changed to the Deep South of America for it > to work. Which kinda makes me laugh that Smeg complains > about it having British accents when it originally was set in Britain...LOL > > Pud | |
