I am guessing that my post was removed because it is against board rules to post something that someone else from outside the board has written. Perhaps I could just respond myself about the subject of English language versions of "Tanz". A close friend showed me an email from "Tanz" designer William Dudley and he said that there is an English language version of "Tanz" in the works. I wouldn't want BatForGood's friend to spend a huge amount of time translating from German before he has secured any rights. And, as many people know, the rights for any English language version of "Tanz" are very difficult to obtain. Although, I don't think that BatForGood should simply give up on the idea of producing something that includes Jim's music. It has been done. Smeghead produced a successful version of Jim's musical "The Confidence Man". Ryan (Rockfenris) has achieved great success using his own music with a show called "Don Claude Devious: Cannibal Rapture", but he has also written a show which would use Jim's music, called "Frankensteinman". He has had difficulty in obtaining the rights to use Jim's music but I do hope that he won't give up because the script is brilliant. And BatForGood's "Room At The Top" sounds very interesting. I wonder what Jim songs are in the script. Perhaps he will enlighten us. | |
