| At times Meat's voice was very good and at times it really wasn't. The band was awesome throughout, particularly Justin Avery. I'd goes as far as to say they are the best line up of the Neverland Express Meat has put together. The first half can not be described as 'a selection of greatest hits' as it had been promoted, but it is a rocking 50 minutes with Objects In The Rear View Mirror slotted in. Those 50 minutes seemed to fly by but I would say that it felt rushed in places - Lemon and Objects could both have benefited from an extra minute or two. Bat 1 from start to finish is amazing. Hearing For Crying Out Loud live was the highlight of the night. Heaven Can Wait and Two Out Of Three were also brilliant, although that may have as much to do with Justin's piano playing as anything else. Highlights: All of the second act, but particularly For Crying Out Loud Objects The new arrangement of Frying Pan The Giving Tree Seeing a giant Jim Steinman on the big screen Lowlights: Meat Loaf's 65 year old vocals No Rock And Roll Dreams If you're still on the fence about going to this tour then do it. But one show is probably enough. | |
