It is definitely happening unless something extremely unfortunate happens to Meat or Jim. Meat has said he hasn't had this much excitement from a record company in ages. This is pretty much the best way to do a new album for all involved. Jim can choose how much work he does and oversee what he doesn't choose to do for whatever reason. Meat can still produce a good vocal in the studio and he and Paul are faster workers than Jim is known to be. The 2 things I hope for is that Jim has final say over creative control and if other songs are to be used that Jim would have a strong input as to what gets put next to his songs, given Meat's frequent choice of some pretty dodgy stuff. If I were a songwriter I'd be thrilled to be on an album with Jim's songs for sales reasons, but would fear my best efforts might pale next to a Steinman/Loaf epic. | |
