Well, I'm fairly sure that this project will actually happen, and just this morning as I was walking to work the following thought crossed my mind: I'd like this new album to finish with "A kiss..." as in the Rory Dodd demo from the 80's. Let me elaborate: I don't dare to say how many Jim songs will be on the album in total. I don't know how good the other songs will be. I also don't have a clue yet how much Jim will be involved in total. One thing, however, is probably for sure: This could very well be the last album that could be called a Meat / Jim collaboration. In fact, it could be one of the last major works even when you look at Jim and Meat independently. In any case, a collaboration (Bat I) was what really started the careers of these two folks. That's why I'd want this album to finish with a song that captures the mood / spirit behind their work, especially the work they started with, real well. And I have a feeling that "A kiss" would be a perfect song for this. Granted, Meat has already performed the "other kiss", but still: IF this album is Jim's and Meat's saying good-bye from jointly releasing records (which is very well possible), then finish it up with and upbeat song, that is both nostalgic, as well as - keeping the lyrics in mind - something like a statement saying that they still stand for what they started out with in the 70's, and are still proud of it. | |
