First, you've Got To Get MAD!!

I have never seen the film (perhaps at some point I should) but I heard that speech used in a track by someone else (The New Black : Perturbator - if you want a listen, look for it on Bandcamp) and that rant is so powerful! And even though I had to look up what steel-belted radials are, the rest of it still strikes hard.

What we have in the world now, though, is not apathy. The whole world is full of people getting mad, but they are getting mad at little things that do nothing. The internet lets people express what they're mad at really easily, and there are always people who oppose the mad ones with equal madness, so that after a while everything gets amplified so much that every last drop of a pin sets off an explosion. But by that point, it's meaningless, because it is just a matter of pins, it's petty bickering blown out of proportion.

Your demo, your lyrics... I know you didn't give that much context, but to me the Gods lines make it sound like the commissioner's speech didn't work. That is, the crowd are definitely Mad As Hell but still sound 100% devoted to being passive about taking any form of direct action outside of yelling and stomping.

It's like

Gordon: "The city does nothing for you! I want you to get mad at the city! Break out of that shell of fear you've enclosed yourselves in, and Demand that you are treated like something more than disposable objects!".

Crowd: "Ok! We're mad at.... Gods!! We're gonna angrily philosophise at theological entities! We'll boldly.... complain a bit and defer our problems away to someone else, just like we did when nothing happened!"

Gordon: "oh hey, were you guys listening?"

I mean, I know it fits the tune and everything, but it seems more of a time to rise up and fire a rocket down that tunnel to create a light at the end of it yourselves. Each citizen providing a drop of action to create a tidal wave. And nothing can go wrong with summoning a tidal wave to a city, eh? :P
