| I'm sure a lot of you have noticed that Jim was the frequent victim of merciless editing when his frequently long songs were sliced & diced to fit a 7 inch single. Just off the top of my head, I can think of several examples: "For Crying Out Loud" was reduced to its middle 1/3. "Dance In My Pants" was not only shortened, but also remixed with a new horn section and short guitar solo before Jim doesn't want to be rescued. "Rebel Without A Clue" was chopped (about in half, I think) and given a repeating chorus to fade out. "Nowhere Fast" (Meat's version) had something done to it too, but it's been so long since I've listened to it, I don't remember what it was. And I won't even go into the dozen or so different edits and remixes of "Anything For Love" (and other Back Into Hell singles) that are out there. (Some are better that others.) Are there any other calamitous edits I'm missing that you can think of? | |
