I agree. Not the standard way of doing things, but at least we'll get to see the show 'early'.

I initially thought Manchester was the 'out of town try out' and then London for the official 'opening' and extended run, but apparently not.

I did read (somewhere) recently that the team involved are approaching this show in a totally different way, and it will be a ground-breaking theatrical 'event'.

The fact that it's a limited run may help fill seats, and perhaps other (smaller) West End theatres were not available?

Also the Coliseum (and Manchester Opera House) may be fitting, if Jim sees the show as a (rock) OPERA.
