| £45 is very close to being outrageous considering he'll probably not play more than 2 hours. For that price I'd want a couple big name support acts to do 40 minutes each and then at least 2 hours from Meat. For a bit of fun I thought I'd look at upcoming concerts and see how much they're costing. Lionel Richie £50 (plainly ripping off the fans). Westlife £30 (like it or not, they're one of the biggest names in the pop industry, but £30 is about the most any ticket (except festivals) should be). WASP £15 (that's a reasonable price for a band of that stature, i.e. not terribly famous but with a dedicated fan base). Riverdance £37.50 (if you're willing to pay that much you deserve to sit through 2 hours of that shite). James Taylor £40 (no support, so he's plainly topping up the retirement fund and doesn't care how much he's shafting his fans to do it). Johnny Winter £25 (that's more like it. Johnny's not worried about retirement- he's just glad to still be alive). All of which leads me to draw the conclusion that £45 for Meat Loaf represents albeit not a Justin Timberlake sized daylight robbery (£50, honestly) but just a minor shafting. Enjoy the show, Will > This has cost me £45 a ticket, a bit > much but not outrageous. > If those other bands can sell tickets cheaper and there > are probably equal number of people in all of them AND > have a bigger tour budget why can't the meat when his > tickets are a little more expensive? > If this is gonna be the meats last full on outing (and I > think it will) I hope there is a little bit more cash in > the pot to send him off in a good way and for people to be > coming home thinking they got their monies worth. > > P.s. can you tell I am an accountant? | |
