It would be like Frank Spencer meets the Phantom too, and he wanted to play a different role, with more humour. Well, there you go. I thought it mirrored Jack Nicholson's casting in the Batman movie too. Both projects needed the big star for audiences to take it more seriously. A Batman movie in 89? People laughed. A Batman musical?
