Evan, I agree with you 100%. I used to be pretty active as an amateur TV reviewer, and one of my entertainment journalist FB friends posted an article pretty quickly with the news. But, I was completely stunned. Like you, I had no idea Jim was so sick the past few years. Also, like you, I'm so sad just thinking about Jim being alone with just his nurse. I knew Jim didn't have much family, but doesn't he have a brother? Were they close? Finally, does anybody have any idea what may happen to Jim's things? I remember reading an article and seeing photos of his "Bat Cave" with all the artwork, custom skulls, crystal sculptures, etc. and I wonder what will become of all of that. I'm sure the people closest to Jim will get a few of the items (like his Yamaha piano, Grammy award, etc.), but I hope they just don't have a big yard sale to ditch the rest so that they can sell the house. That would be a tragedy. BTW, I'm Mary. I've been a huge fan of Jim's work for several decades, but was only an observer of the website ...until now. It's been over a week, but I still can't wrap my head around the fact that I'll never hear another, new Jim Steinman song. > I had no idea how sick Jim was the last few years.
