I don't understand he could bring a gun or any other device like that onto the University grounds... not in the days after 9/11... even the schools at my retard little village in the North of Holland have metal detectors these days...
And not carrying a gun doesn't kill crime... sure... then again... the penalty for taking a life is what, 3 years in jail? During which you get the chance to learn a trade and get a job? Big loss... Is a human life really that worthless?
If a government lays down a law and enforces it, it should be possible to limit such tragedies... where the hell was campus security when the bloke carried 2 handguns onto campus? Or started shooting like mad? How the hell does one guy kill so many people in 2 buildings on either side of the compound?
I fully agree that banning weapons, or making obtaining one more difficult does not solve the problem, but I also don't think that everyone owning and using guns solves anything either... something should indeed be done to change society as a whole... perhaps if some courageous president would have invested (part of) all that defense money into schools, health care and 'curing' poverty, things would be different...
If I wanted to bring down the USA, I would continue to 'pose a threat' as long as possible, keep em pumping the money into their defense, and wait for it's own people to destroy it from the inside... much easier and cheaper than training an army of soldiers/terrorist and buying all those weapons... must be quite a laugh...
