Article in the Daily Mail (UK) today, about Lord of The Rings (opening in Drury Lane in a few weeks).

Apparently it has got 'state of the art' sets, mechanicals, sound etc etc and is budgeted at 'only' $15 million.

I haven't heard of any musicals to date, topping $15 million.

$50 milion is nonsense; too much of a risk (for a musical), and too long to recoup.

In regards to producer fees, I have absolutely no idea what top producers can currently charge, but $200 million to produce Bat 3 is absolute nonsense (for a start Meat or the record company would not have made any money).

I've read recently that Rodney Jerkins can command up to $100,000 per track, and Scott Storch $40-50,000 per track.

I would think Jim is one of the most expensive producers in the world, and I would guess he was offered anywhere between $1-2million to produce Bat 3 (depending on how many songs), with maybe a percentage deal on sales as well?
