I think the film "Good Morning Vietnam" was making, among its subtexts, the point that one cannot be a fan of Polka music and also Rock and Roll music. Conversely, some might think that adoring the sound of an accordian might be against odds with loving the sound of a guitar. But, music is music, indeed, to most that I've spoken to on the subject including myself (do I talk to myself?). The real question perhaps might come between forms of "music" and music itself, in peoples' divergent definitions of what music is. | |
