I found a piece at Whelan's gallery, called Dragon's Bane which seemed familiar, the item is not dated. I looked at the detail...book cover for a novel by Barbara Hambly! I knew her for several years between 1983 and 1986, when she was dating the brother of the guy that I was dating...if you could call it that, between 1982 and 1986. The two brothers shared a house, so Barbara was there and I was there frequently at the same time. But, in all those three years, she failed to come into speaking terms with me, and never explained it. Someone suggested she was a friend of one of my date's ex-girlfriends and continued a misdirected loyalty to her. So, Barbara I knew, and Barbara I didn't know, so it went!
