I agree entirely. Those are my two least favorite Steinman songs. Yeah, Dead Ringer is a fun song, and I do Enjoy it. it's just not one of Jim's masterpieces. Actually I'd put "Speaking in Tongues" in that category too. A fun and humorous song, just not that deep. We know "Speaking in Tongues" was for the Cry Baby musical, so I know it was written in that context and give it a break. Same with "Cry to Heaven".

Sometimes I don't really like "Faster Than the Speed of Night" and other times I get it so I'm on the fence on that one.

Does anybody know if there's a backstory to "Dead Ringer"?
If Jim has mentioned where/how he came up with it. It's the odd song on the album, and I think sticks out as so. Paradise always seemed the same way to me. But, Dead Ringer is still my favorite meat album. The other songs are some of Jim's best work. IMO
