Alfred discovers Sarah ensconced in a luxurious bath. He implores her to come away with him, but it's no use: she doesn't want to be saved - her heart is set on going to the ball.

When Alfred rejoins the Professor he finds the room strangely altered.

Herbert Tries To Seduce Alfred

8th Scene: MIRROR BATHROOM

On returning to the bathroom, Alfred finds Sarah gone and Herbert there instead. Herbert tries to seduce him. A glance at the mirror makes Alfred's blood run cold - Count Krolock's son casts no reflection - but the Professor saves him in the nick of time.

Vampires Rise From Their Graves

9th Scene: BATTLEMENTS

The Professor and Alfred run into Count Krolock in the battlements. He threatens them, then disappears. They see the vampires rise from their graves and throng from the gloom of the graveyard to the brightly illuminated ballroom. Count Krolock laments his fate.
