| Just wanted to thank everyone involved in this year's meeting in Berlin and Budapest. I had a fantastic time. Everything planned went according to plan. It was the exciting, unexpected elements that really put the icing on the cake. As a quick note, I would like to re-iterate what a saint Rinkoff is. What could be greater than hanging out at the Vampirok after-party with Steinman's co-producer and chatting about music all night long? A special thanks to Steve for putting that extra magical touch on our time in Budapest! And, of course, those of you who make the trip so worthwile each time. Ann who is the only person I've met who can order a potato in a German restaurant and get just the skin filled with sour cream. Judi for conveniently being two steps ahead of you with that looming pothole zeroing in on you. Will, always a pleasure to have a travel partner--even if we did "bump" into each other several times while on our own journeys around Budapest. Hennie, where was your shoe bag from Warsaw?? Sandra, great meeting you. Would love to read a full review of your first Tanz experience. Markus and Antonina: always a true pleasure Markus. And we will do a proper recording one of these days. Derya, for the true insider's tour to Berlin and for explaining to me the differnece between "Glas" and "Glas-Ding". William, nice to meet you as well and hope to see you for the Dutch version of the musical. Laci for acquiring my Vampirok tickets and being our Hungarian translator. And Dave and Julie for being such great sports with wonderful humor. I just looked out my bedroom window and saw a telephoto lens receed into the bushes behind my house. Dave, go home already. A big thanks to JD and Martin for putting me up for the night in London, despite terror alerts and the general ruckus of tourist season in England. Martin's a great Steinman guy and a true pleasure to hang out with (JD, we went to that pub you enjoy, but I opted for the ham and eggs over the fish plate you're so fond of...forgive me!!!) I've updated my blog with some pictures. I'll put the Budapest stuff up in another day or two. See the link. --BMV | |
