| OK Pud, seems you dislike me so I'll make an effort to answer your objections because I really don't want more bad feeling on the board. I pretty much do disagree with you, that's true, but then most of your posts lately have been about Susan and how to stop "crazies" getting onto the board. Even the NC Chronicles idea grew out of the idea of Credit Card registration, which I've already explained why I am opposed to, and we both know we have different opinions on how JD handled the Susan issue - why can't we just agree to disagree on that? As far as NC goes, I wouldn't be prepared to pay for something that just rehashed material already available on the internet - I don't think anyone would. IF the NC was going to be along the lines you suggest, new interviews with Jim & Rink, calendars of events, Steingatherings etc etc, then of course i would be prepared to pay with it. But what makes you think it WILL be? Jim blogs very infrequently and no matter how many questions or pleas are posted on this site, he very rarely answers them - why would this change all of a sudden? It also seems that your vision of NC would end the need for this board (or at least severely restrict it) - Steingatherings, demos, lyrics etc are all posted on here when they are available. I can't see the point in putting them into a printed format instead, that's all. As far as running costs of this site go, I would have no problem in contributing to them. I've been a fairly intermittent poster over the years, so I've missed the Xmas mail outs or, in the case of Rheingold, decided to give it a miss. I've not paid for the discs and I haven't "scabbed" them for free either. Seems to me you look down your nose at those who aren't sharing Steinman stuff all the time. I don't share, because I haven't got anything worth sharing that isn't readily available anywhere else. I've got the official albums on CD, I've got the Dream Engine bootlegs (thanks to the generosity of posters on this site), I've got the demos Jim has posted on here. If anyone wants anything I've got, they are more than welcome, but everything I've got is readily available elsewhere on the net - so what would be the point? Doesn't make me a scabby fucker. | |
