I'm serious. Back in 1977, was it the name "Meat Loaf" catching their eye? When they walked past the record stand, what did they notice first? A picture of a red sky, Bat on a church steeple and lots of graves (Incidentally, if you read the "Dance of the Vampires" November script, the "Vampires Dance" sequence is a tribute to this ;-) Because of the two guys on the back of the cover, no one would have been too sure (at first) who the Meat Loaf was. They might have thought it was a band?

I know when I first heard "Bat Out Of Hell", and then "Back Into Hell", I didn't know what Meat Loaf looked like. I didn't actually know what Meat Loaf was, because I thought it was a band or a label for all this kind of mad singing and playing. Alright, so Meat Loaf is famous, and I'm not denying that he got more attention than Steinman on the project, and yet "The Monster Is Loose" failed. Hmmm, I wonder why? No Steinman? Shitty album cover? Roger Waters toured "Dark Side Of The Moon" to great success, and not any average Joe would be able to tell you the names of the members of Pink Floyd. But it had that indelible name and cover art on the posters. Everyone went along.

What I'm really trying to say is, "Bat Out Of Hell" is a bigger name than Meat Loaf. Why? Because the sequel was the only other successful album he REALLY had. I don't think it's going to be an issue, really.
